Yup. I pretty much blogged with either The Daily Show or The Colbert Report playing in the background.
Whew! I made it! Sure, there were a few softball posts thrown in there when I was struggling to write something more substantial, but I felt like I hung in there pretty well while still producing some decent material.
THANK YOU to all who keep coming back and reading. I feel like the online yoga community is growing (maybe not as fast as mom bloggers, food bloggers or DIY craft bloggers, but we’re getting there!), and I enjoy “meeting” yogis from all over who interact through social media.
To give you a peek at how things went this month…
Since November 1, I broke 900 unique visitors this month! I was maybe getting 600 and upwards of 700 uniques the last few months, so it’s nice to see this boost in traffic. (The blue line above is November and orange is October.)
Visitors are staying and reading for 2 minutes at a time. Most sites (not Facebook) are lucky to keep people interested for longer than 30 seconds before they move on to their next destination, so I consider this a great compliment that my content is worthy of your time.
Not surprisingly, 60% of traffic is from here in the U.S. And hello to the almost 8% coming from Canada, 7% from Deutschland and 4% from the UK!
In addition to the community-aspect of blogging, part of the geekyness (and awesomeness) of running a site like this is to see the analytics over time. It’s great motivation to keep up the conversation and cool to watch real-time progress. And hey, since blogging is related to my day job, I get to experiment and learn in a trial-by-fire way.
And now to translate daily blogging into daily yoga-ing! Someone keep me accountable, okay?
