I super love long weekends when studios stay open because it means I can find a daytime weekday class that I normally can’t make. On this Memorial Day, I took the kid to his first toddler yoga class while I attended a vinyasa flow class in the next room at Kula Yoga.
He was a little hesitant and clingy at first with all the new faces. There were maybe 15 kids who were almost all older than him and regulars in the toddler yoga class. But Amy told me he did great once they got started. He followed along and even helped put up the toys and balloons at the end. I’m not exactly sure what they did in the class (criss-cross apple sauce?), but he was BEAMING when I went to go get him. He must have had a pretty awesome time.
I, on the other hand, was sweating up a storm in the vinyasa class. Side plank is my other nemesis (chair pose being the first). Meg always makes us work hard and makes it look effortless while we’re gasping and shaking. Haha!
I’m looking forward to the next time we can attend tandem classes. I got a vigorous practice in. He got some fun yoga play time. And the husband got some quiet time and grocery shopping while on his own. I think that makes it a win-win-win situation.
