Luminarium: Architects of Air

My co-workers and I went on a little team outing to visit the Architects of Air sculpture at the Long Center yesterday. This year is a new luminarium called Miracoco. My family visited a different luminarium two years ago that was the “brother” exhibit to Miracoco, and it was such a cool experience that I definitely wanted to come back.

Think of it like a giant blow-up walk-through architectural space with ambient music and colorful light flooding the different rooms and pods. It was so serene inside that you could see people just hanging out in a pod, meditating and absorbing their surroundings.

They highly encouraged yoga inside the structure, which means doing tree pose at the “tree” seemed completely apropos. Just watch out for young children!

Take your camera. It’s definitely a visual treat, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how spacious it is inside.

The exhibit only runs through this Sunday, February 2, so head down to the Long Center soon before it moves on to the next tour destination. Tickets were $10 each.
