I feel like I’m still recovering from SXSW, and I didn’t even do any evening/night activities! So here’s my recap in mostly photos:
Day 1: A few great panels to start SXSW. Mostly I was on the search for food and fun brand activations.
First order of business: Find the yoga room. Same room as last year!
Needed to hide from the wind before my 9:30 panel started. Courtyard Marriott had a converted storage container to look like their new rooms. Free water and wifi!
YAY! Non-alcoholic tasty drink, Rice Krispie treats and snacks at the Team Detroit panel.
Lego relies heavily on their very loyal fans to keep brand enthusiasm up and running.
Free lunch. Thanks, Go To Meeting.
Cute fake Bates Motel to promote AMC’s Bates Motel.
Power to the pumping mamas!
Day 2: I missed all of day 2 due to the rain and our afternoon birthing refresher class. Glad to stay dry that day!
Day 3: Brought my husband as my day pass guest for his first time at SXSW. Took a morning yoga class, saw Mindy Kaling, hosted my meetup, got a quick massage, saw some actors from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and had rockstar parking downtown.

Morning yoga with Bea Love Yoga
Mindy Kaling and her The Mindy Project co-stars
Cottonelle Refresher Lounge, where I got a free 20 minute prenatal table massage, flushable wipes and some juice. They also offered blowouts and shoe shining.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumerno. Melissa said “buttonhole” a lot and very loudly in the mic.
The hat wall at Proof Annex, where my meetup took place.
Day 4: Edward Snowden, Nicolas Cage and Adam Savage. The zoom function on my phone’s camera was really being tested.

Loved this quote about art
Day 5: Finally made it to see the Game of Thrones exhibit with the family before catching George Takei and Portlandia creators Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen.
We promised the kid there would be dragons.
The detail on the costumes is stunning up close.
Our menacing family portrait. I don’t think the husband and kid followed direction.
Fun GOT themed posters on display.
Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein!
As much as I wish I could’ve partaken in the free drinks and the late night partying, my feet were aching each and every day. I did enjoy 3 film screenings with my Gold Badge though, and that was fun.
I have a few more big things to check off the list before this next baby arrives. This week, I’m hopefully going to get back to ashtanga at the studio. My back’s been aching and my legs have been cramping up, so I foresee even more modifications. Four weeks until my due date!
