My 12 weeks of maternity leave are quickly coming to an end, as much as I don’t want to think about it. We’re still in a sleep-deprived haze over here (Bear Shark is still waking up 2-3 times at night to eat), but I’m trying to make the most of my remaining time before I go back to the office life.
With that said, I’ve pulled out and washed all the bottles for daycare. I’m so paranoid that I’m going to hit a pumping wall and not make enough milk, so I’m baking and eating lactation cookies like my life depends on them. To be fair, Bear Shark’s life DOES depend on them. And I really hope he comes around to the bottle VERY quickly with his teachers. Why do my kids suddenly hate the bottle so much?!?
I think my cloth diaper stash is ready as well. Yay for free 2-day shipping from SweetBottomsBaby.com and some of the cutest diapers I’ve ever seen! (This is what motherhood has done to me. I am most excited to buy stuff that my kid will pee/poop in.)
While all the baby’s stuff is getting prepped, I’m also trying to cram in as much yoga as I can. Bear Shark and I have been doing mommy/baby classes. But I’m craving some vinyasa and ashtanga and some yin to balance things out.
My plan is to send him to daycare a few times before I start working again since the whole month’s tuition will already be paid. That gives him some time to get used to a new environment, but I can still come and rescue the teachers if he has a rough transition. This also gives me time to be alone and focus on myself. I haven’t had a lot of alone time in the past couple months. Even when it’s just me and Bear Shark at home, his hour-long naps are when I either catch up on some sleep or am washing laundry/folding laundry/putting away laundry. I had no idea that two little boys could create so much laundry (and this isn’t even counting the diapers).
I’ve already marked some classes I think I can make. I may not be getting much sleep, but at least my body is starting to rebound and feel stronger! I have a feeling I won’t be going to many/any yoga classes once I start work, so I’ve gotta get them in while I can.
