Ah… the end of summer. School is back in session, which means traffic in Austin has gotten exponentially worse. I think this is probably why Free Day of Yoga came about. Everyone needed to de-stress from the first week back.

It seems every year, another city joins Free Day of Yoga.

Free Day of Yoga has been happening every year in Austin, Texas since 1999. It has spread to other cities in Texas: Dallas/Fort WorthHouston, Victoria, Nederland; in the US: Beckley W. Virginia; Los Angeles CA; Sacramento, CA, Philadelphia PA, and even as far as Guam!

Since Austin is the original, pretty much every single studio in town is participating. There are classes on the schedule from 4:30 am (!) to 8 pm. To give you a taste of the offerings, here were some of the less traditional classes:

  • Yoga for Digestion/Runners/Stress Management/Athletes
  • Fresh Air Detox
  • Yogalates
  • Aqua Yoga
  • Qigong
  • Meditation in Motion
  • Festive Flow
  • Yoga Con Barre
  • Blue Plate Special
  • Yoga Grande
  • Mellow Flow

There are classes for every age, every style, every level, every size and more. Check out the schedule here and enjoy!
