Connecting human-to-human with my students and helping them make sense of yoga are THE reasons I teach. I appreciate all of their kind words as they step on to their own yogic path and allow me to guide them along the way.
I loved the class that I took with Terri. I have only done yoga a few times, but Terri was kind and thoroughly explained what each pose was before doing them. For the first time I feel like I actually was doing the poses correctly. I can’t wait to take another class from her sometime!
Terri’s yoga instruction is remarkable. Entering her class, I was a beginner that hadn’t been to a yoga class in over a year. I was immediately welcomed and made comfortable, despite my lack of experience. Terri did a great job of correcting form and demonstrating alternative poses. I left the class feeling rejuvenated, peaceful, and healthy (mentally and physically). I hope to take many, many more of her classes!
There’s a quote about teachers – ‘The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.’ Terri is definitely the type of Yoga instructor that fits into that last category. I recently started the practice of Yoga a few months ago, having done a few live classes and several on YouTube. The one-hour session I got to spend with Terri was similar to what I’ve experienced, but it also went a step further. You see, Terri not only guides you through the series of Yoga moves, she also explains certain aspects of Yoga that I was unfamiliar with, namely where the pressure points should be, e.g., where the connection to the ground should be focused on; as well as what you should feel if you were doing the yoga moves properly. This gave me a deeper appreciation for why certain moves are structured the way they are. Even more so, it inspired me to venture further into my own practice of Yoga. I would definitely recommend Terri as an instructor for both …
Thank you so much for the yoga class last week. As an instructor you are very calm and supportive and provide good guidance. I really appreciated that the course was a great combination of movement that never felt boring or repetitive and had great energy. I hope to attend again soon.
I’ve done yoga on and off for years and with various instructors. Some are obviously good, but they can’t communicate the skills to me or they didn’t feel approachable. Terri is obviously very skilled and flexible in her approach, but most importantly, you feel at ease with her. You’re often told in yoga to do only what you can, but Terri takes extra care to drive this point home, emphasizing the true meditative nature of yoga practice. And I don’t have to watch her very much to figure out what to do; she explains poses so concisely and clearly that a new move makes sense in no time with her. This really allows me to focus on my breathing which would otherwise get messed up by craning my neck to look at the instructor. She’s such an excellent instructor! I’m just bummed that she doesn’t live in Dallas so that I can attend her classes. I’m crossing all fingers/toes/limbs in hopes that she’ll have to move here so I can benefit from her good energy!
I absolutely loved taking Terri’s yoga class! As a newbie to yoga, I thought she did a fantastic job of making sure that I was comfortable with the poses. She also took the time to explain each pose’s benefit to the well being of the body. After just one class I was hooked on yoga!
I confess that yoga is something I’ve wanted to try for a long time, but have never worked up the courage to do. I took my very first class with Terri, and I have to say, it was a great experience! She was great at explaining the poses and helping me use proper form. I felt comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the class. I look forward to going again soon!
